Google, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, 93 Other Tech Companies File Legal Brief Against Trump Ban (VIDEO)

The presidency of Donald Trump is sending shock waves through the tech world. Specifically, Trump’s clumsy and ill-conceived Muslim travel ban has prompted the leaders of Google, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft and 93 other technology giants to take legal action against the White House.

According to a piece in the Washington Post, the tech firms coordinated to file an amicus brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, who ruled against the Muslim ban.

The brief said:

“The Order represents a significant departure from the principles of fairness and predictability that have governed the immigration system of the United States for more than fifty years – and the Order inflicts significant harm on American business, innovation, and growth as a result.”

It continued:

“The Order makes it more difficult and expensive for U.S. companies to recruit, hire, and retain some of the world’s best employees. It disrupts ongoing business operations. And it threatens companies’ ability to attract talent, business, and investment to the United States.”

The so-called “businessman” president should have understood this language, but the administration persisted with its nonsensical ban. The 9th Circuit however was unmoved by Trump and his Twitter tirades.

One of Trump’s funniest Twitter reactions to the court’s decision was when he told the court, that he’d see them in court. I’m sure the absurdity of his statement was lost on the so-called president and his supporters.

In a unanimous decision, the Court ruled that a lower court judges’ stay preventing the ban remains in place, at least for now.

Here’s a video of Trump explicitly saying that he was going to ban Muslims.
