UPDATED: Family Turned Away Due To Muslim Ban: Mother Died – Sad (TWEETS-VIDEO)

Update:

The original article (below) was written after reports of the death of an elderly green card holder was reported by her son Mike Hager. Since that story broke, there has been some confusion about whether or not the man lied about the actual date that his mother passed away. The original reporting agency, Fox News Detroit, has retracted their report as follows:

Imam Husham Al-Hussainy, a known Trump supporter, is claiming that Hager’s mother passed away on January 22. Trump’s Muslim Ban was put into place on January 27. While Hager has yet to verbally confirm his original story, WJBK did receive a text message from him saying he didn’t lie. We will update if additional information is made available.

The original article appears below:

Imagine living in this country since 1995 with a green card. You then travel back home to Iraq to visit family, become sick and try to come back to the United States. Surely there wouldn’t be any problem?

Unless the place you’ve called home for two decades is now being run by a dictator.

Mike Hager is an Iraqi man who has lived in Detroit, Michigan since he fled during the Gulf War. From 2003-2008, he served as an interpreter and cultural adviser to our Marines and Army. He recently flew to Iraq to visit family members and took along his mother, Naimma. Given her green card status, he didn’t foresee any problems coming back home.

Thanks to President Donald Trump’s attempt to push for white supremacy, also known as the Muslim Ban, Hager was the only one allowed to get on the plane. Unlike Naimma and his two nieces, he’s an official American citizen. Trump’s Muslim Ban doesn’t take into account anyone with a green card.

Naimma was ill and needed medical treatment, which is why they were flying back home. She has now died as a result.

About having to leave his mother behind, Hager said:

“I was just shocked. I had to put my mom back on the wheelchair and take her back and call the ambulance and she was very, very upset. She knew right there if we send her back to the hospital she’s going to pass away-she’s not going to make it.”

There’s been plenty of backlash on Twitter over the unconstitutional Muslim Ban, especially now that it’s cost someone their life.

This is just one of the many executive orders he’s signed off on. It’s worth noting that Trump hasn’t even been our fascist president a full month. As people continue to protest, including a national one scheduled for February 17, most of the country is worried about our uncertain future.

The rest, also known as Trumpkins, are just happy to have someone validate their racist, sexist and Islamophobic views.
