The Most Brilliant British Anti-Trump Protest Signs (TWEETS/VIDEO)

It’s almost impossible to catalog all the good things British civilization has produced. For instance, tea and crumpets. Or popular new wave bands like New Order and Depeche Mode. And apparently, our neighbors across the pond have a knack for incorporating cheeky British-isms into brilliant protest signs.

In solidarity with us here in the States, Brits across the U.K. took to the streets to oppose President Donald Trump’s recent travel ban against seven Muslim-majority nations.

Time magazine collected several of the best examples of yesterday’s U.K. protest signs and provided translations for those not familiar with British English.

The Glasgow sign (left), according to Time, translates to:

“Your mom was an immigrant. You absolute fool.”

The more dignified Cambridge protester on the right adopted the prim and proper manner of the Queen’s English. The sign is all the more hilarious when contrasted against Trump’s own foul-mouthed habits of speech and complete inability to employ understatement.

This sign, spotted in Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh, refers to Irn-Bru, a popular orange-tinged Scottish soda.

In London, one protester accused Trump of being a “wasteman” – a good-for-nothing slacker. Considering the amount of time Trump spends watching TV and spouting off on Twitter, the criticism seems fair.

This one reprises the charge that Trump is a “wasteman.” But the other sign – “Trump is a bludclart” – refers to a period pad.

“Mandem” is British slang for a group of good friends.

The Telegraph discovered this sign from Wales. It speaks for itself.
