Former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer just loves to try and remain politically relevant by appearing on cable news to spread her message of exclusion, hatred, and intolerance. But after an appearance on CNN Sunday, she may just take a long vacation.
Brewer appeared on State of the Union with former GOP strategist Ana Navarro to discuss Donald Trump’s executive order barring refugees from seven nations in the Middle East, and got upset when Navarro said:
“This is one where as exhausted as they may be, Republicans need to appeal to their sense of conscience, to their principles, to what is right and wrong, to American values and they need to speak up. Folks may want to tell us this is not a Muslim ban. I’ll tell you who thinks it’s a Muslim ban. Muslims think it’s a Muslim ban, those who want a Muslim ban — like [son of Gen. Michael Flynn] little boy Flynn and David Duke, the former KKK leader, are celebrating it as a Muslim ban.”
To that, Brewer replied:
“That was a lot to take in. People in America want to be secure and safe. And with the ban, I think it’s perfectly fine to put it on a pause and do the complete vetting.
“I believe that the administration probably has high intelligence reports that these countries that he has named, there’s a danger there. And he promised the people of America, of the United States, that he was going to keep us safe.”
That was when Navarro reminded that Trump had not even consulted his own Department of Homeland Security before he issued the executive order on Friday:
“This should be very worrisome to everyone, including my party, that the Department of Homeland Security was not consulted. That department expressed concern about it being implemented on legal permanent residents and got overridden by people in the White House who are not national security experts.
“This should not be done with folks with no experience and nothing but campaign promises.”
A visibly agitated Brewer declared:
“American people of the United States, they want our country to be safe! President Trump has surrounded himself with very, very intelligent cabinet members and intelligent White House administrators.”
Navarro reminded Brewer:
“He’s not giving them input, Jan.”
Brewer:
“You don’t know that.”
Very intelligent cabinet members and White House administrators?! You mean like alt-right/neo-Nazi/white supremacist Steve Bannon, who would just as soon enslave the entire country under his dominion as take a breath of air? Or maybe you prefer National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, who is so deeply enmeshed with the Russians that he probably has dual citizenship.
Jan Brewer not only needs to stay off TV, she should also try sticking her head in a toilet and flushing the bullshit out of the space between her ears.
