Petition For Trump To Release His Taxes Sets New White House Record For Signatures

Even though he has repeatedly promised to release his tax returns just as soon as he is no longer audit, we learned last weekend that too is just another of the billions of lies Trump spews out each and every day.

But it should be noted by the Liar-in-Chief that a petition calling for him to provide his tax information has now received more signatures than any other petition to the White House in the five-year history of such online requests.

Specifically, the petition calls on the U.S. government to:

“Immediately release Donald Trump’s full tax returns, with all information needed to verify emoluments clause compliance.

“The unprecedented economic conflicts of this administration need to be visible to the American people, including any pertinent documentation which can reveal the foreign influences and financial interests which may put Donald Trump in conflict with the emoluments clause of the Constitution.”

In the first 24 hours the petition was online, it garnered 100,000 signatures. As of Thursday, it has been electronically signed by 368,000 people, which breaks the old record of 367,180 which called on the federal government to “legally recognize the Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group.”

The White House did not respond to request for comment on the petition.

And should anyone believe that any amount of pressure, signatures, or even legal action will compel the Cheeto-in-Chief to ever show his taxes, Kellyanne Conway said on Sunday:

“We litigated this all through the election. People didn’t care.”

Of course, Trump could at least produce the letter from the IRS which would confirm he’s actually being audited, but since he’s lying yet again, don’t hold your breath waiting for that correspondence, either.
