In the past five days, Donald Trump has done more to scare clear thinking Americans than swine flu and ebola combined.
The man is behaving like the dictator that so many of us feared. He has all but shut down the EPA, blocking grants and research and then ordering staff not to talk about it.
Badasslands National Park
Yesterday the Badland’s National Park Twitter page reacted to the President’s actions and to his ongoing denial of climate change. Several tweets appearing on the page provided factual information about increased ocean acidity and increased carbon dioxide in the air.
Whoever did it was a hero, and the site was given the hashtag #Badasslands National Park.
The tweets were deleted by someone within the Trump administration, with no explanation given. Luckily for us, screenshots were taken, and tweets live on in spite of the President’s wishes.
#Resistance
Today a new Twitter page has appeared. It is called AltUSNatParkService. It describes itself this way:
The Unofficial “Resistance” team of U.S. National Park Service. Not taxpayer subsidised! Come for rugged scenery, fossil beds, 89 million acres of landscape
The sites managers makes no effort to hide its disdain for the man in charge. They challenge him on his positions as well as his policies. They’re particularly vocal about the gag orders.
Can't wait for President Trump to call us FAKE NEWS.
You can take our official twitter, but you'll never take our free time!

President Trump has already threatened people who work on climate change by asking for their names during his transition team. The Energy Department declined to obey, but it was a chilling request.
Trump’s multiple executive orders impact workers at the EPA, the Dept. of Energy, the National Park Service, the Department of the Interior among other. They have seen hiring frozen, grants stopped and, most humiliating and upsetting to many, they have been ordered to be silent.
They are not going quietly into that good night, and President Trump had better recognize that.

And these are the people who technically work for him.
It looks like the resistance is already taking shape after less a week of President Trump’s hamfisted attempts to govern.
Things could get a lot worse before they ever get better. Just ask the Alt Park Service.
Imagine what a couple of rogue CIA staff could do to .@POTUS if it's this easy to set up an AltTwitter account. #resist

Yeah. Just imagine what they could do.
