Alec Baldwin Could Take His SNL Trump Trolling On The Road (TWEETS/VIDEO)

Alec Baldwin has revealed to ABC that he is in talks to play President-elect Donald Trump outside of his regular gigs on Saturday Night Live.

Baldwin made the statement:

“I’m gonna do SNL, as much as I can. And there’s discussions about other venues we might pursue to further express our gratitude and admiration for the Trump administration.”

The actor then went on to explain how easy it is to come up with material:

“We just sit back and we look at Twitter, we read the news and we go, ‘There it is!’ And we probably should be, according to the WGA [Writers Guild of America], be giving Trump some writing credits for what he’s done for us … We’re just gonna sit back and just let the good times roll.”

The extremely popular and uncanny impression that Baldwin does of Trump, has received a lot of attention, even from the subject himself. It has actually exposed a hugely insecure side to Trump, in that he has Tweeted about how unfunny he thinks it is:

Baldwin has replied on Twitter to Trump:

While Trump at times comes across as confident, to the point of arrogance, his tweets show that he cannot let any criticism of ‘The Donald’ slide. It is a sign of a very fragile ego, to be so sensitive to a comedy show. We are talking primary school level. He does not even seem to realize that tweeting about it only grows the popularity of the Saturday Night Live character.

If Baldwin’s talks regarding doing something else with his superbly crafted impression succeed, we might well see Trump the movie (perhaps in the disaster genre) or even a Broadway musical.

Considering the circus-like campaign that Trump and his team ran, maybe Baldwin should team up with film director John Waters of Hairspray and Cry Baby fame. After this past couple of years, we could all do with a few laughs.
