Sexual Harassment Becoming A Trend At Fox News
In the aftermath of the resignation of Fox News chairman Roger Ailes due to a sexual harassment scandal, company executives declared that such behavior would never be tolerated again. Despite this statement, Fox News secretly came to this agreement with Huddy, reportedly agreeing on a six-figure settlement.
A frequent guest on “The O’Reilly Factor,” Huddy alleges that Bill O’Reilly attempted to pursue a sexual relationship with her back in 2011. During this time, he also exerted significant influence over her career. When she denied his advances, he quickly attempted to derail her career.
The Allegations
The letter to Fox News includes allegations that Bill O’Reilly had called Juliet Huddy repeatedly and sometimes sounded like he was masturbating (gross). These allegations are similar to those made back in 2004 by a producer on his show, Andrea Mackris. That settlement ended up costing O’Reilly millions.
O’Reilly also allegedly invited Huddy to his house on Long Island and attempted to kiss her. He then invited her to dinner and a movie, after which he dropped his hotel room key in her lap. According to the letter, when she attempted to return it, he answered the door wearing just his boxer shorts. How she wasn’t immediately seduced by that image I can hardly imagine…
Huddy continued to deny his advances, which she believes ultimately cost her professional advancement. With this agreement, Huddy was apparently paid a sum in the high six figures in exchange for her silence and promise not to sue.
Both Fox News and Bill O’Reilly’s lawyer maintain that Ms. Huddy’s allegations are false. You can continue to watch “The O’Reilly Factor” every weekday at 8pm, as money is more important to Fox News than the safety of the women who work for this creep.
