It Is Incredible How Many F**ks Were Given About Trump’s Win (VIDEO)

New data has shown that on November 9, a certain word was used over seven and a half million times, when usually that same word hovers just under three million. That word can be used in many ways: it is a verb, a noun, an expletive, an adjective and an expression of disbelief.

It was of course the F-bomb and it was used at record highs in reaction to president-elect Donald Trump’s win. The word was used three times more on that day than any other average day in 2016.

Considering that 2016 is being looked at as quite a negative year – the year we lost so many great stars, the year of Brexit, the year of shootings, terrorist attacks, war in Syria – adding Donald Trump’s election win brought out the potty mouth in the most of us.

How was it used?

The huge spike in use of the word has been analyzed and the context in which it was predominately used was in a shocked ‘WTF’ kind of way. It was an event that truly shocked people, only on 14 other days in the whole year of 2016 did the number of online F words inch above three million. Trump’s unexpected win meant almost eight million F%#@s were given.

Why were we all so astounded by this event?

Well we honestly didn’t think he could win. Polls had told us Trump was an outsider. Trump’s revolting ‘Access Hollywood’ tape had been made public, he had run a campaign on fear, sexism, racism and vague rhetoric about making America great again. He had no political experience whatsoever, on Twitter he behaved like an egotistical, insecure man-child. Perhaps the huge outpouring of the F word online was a collective scream of disbelief that he had somehow pulled it off. It felt a bit like a disaster film, where the most unlikely thing had happened.

For many people the only way to express this shock, was to use the F-bomb and here is a graph with the data showing that one event dwarfing all others:

Perhaps the WTF reactions will just keep coming, watch former Mexican President Vicente drop the F bomb in reaction to Trump’s plan to build a wall and make him pay for it:
