Trump Expects Taxpayers To Finance His ‘Great Wall’ On Southern Border

During the 2016 campaign, it was one of Donald Trump’s most frequent refrains: He would build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border and make Mexico pay for the cost of construction.

But now that Trump has won the election, we discover the real truth: He expects American taxpayers to foot the bill for his freaking “great wall.”

CNN is reporting that Trump believes he already has authorization to build the wall, but lacks the funding necessary to begin construction. Solution? Tuck $10 billion worth of funding into an appropriations bill and force Democrats to vote for the spending or shut the government down.

Not long after the CNN report broke, Trump did his petulant child routine and took to Twitter, posting this:

Oh, so he’s gonna send an invoice to Mexico and they’re gonna fork over $10 billion for a wall they didn’t ask to have built? That’s a fascinating concept. Perhaps later today I’ll send an email to the U.S. Treasury and tell them I need $100 million so I can build a mansion on 2000 acres. When it comes time to pay the bill, just send it to the nation of Italy and tell them I used some of their marble in construction of my new house, so they have to eat the cost of the whole thing.

Or perhaps we can all just send Donald Trump a bill for forcing us to put up with his endless ignorance and childish behavior. Based on my calculations, he owes me at least $2 billion for the bullshit he’s said over the course of 2016.

Once again we see that Trump is a pathological liar. And we also see that his supporters are too damn dumb to know they’re being conned. Perhaps their hero can help finance their upcoming trip to the poorhouse.
