Trump Supporters To Rockettes: ‘Shut Up And Dance’ (TWEETS/VIDEO)

Supporters of President-elect Donald Trump have once again displayed how blatantly misogynistic they truly are.

After the online backlash over The Rockettes being forced to kick and dance for a man who supports the mistreatment of women, a dancer said:

“I’ve had people message me: ‘Just shut up and dance.'”

The group of female dancers were originally required to perform for Trump at his upcoming inauguration. Only after a strong media backlash did their owner, Madison Square Garden, say it was voluntary.

Trump has had a hard time finding any decent celebrity to perform for him on January 20. It seems very few people want to celebrate a man who once said:

“A person who is very flat-chested is very hard to be a ten.”

Executive chairman of MSG, James Dolan, recently held a meeting about the upcoming inauguration. According to the article on Marie Claire, Dolan said:

“This is a great national event. Every four years we put in a new president. It’s a huge moment in the country’s history. It usually signifies a whole change in how the government is going to run.”

Unlike President Barack Obama’s positive message of “Change is coming to America,” though, this change threatens women’s rights. Despite his previous pro-choice stance on abortion, Trump campaigned to elect an anti-choice Supreme Court judge. It was strongly supported by his creationism-believing partner, Vice President-elect Mike Pence.

Donations to Planned Parenthood in Pence’s name continue to be made.

Dolan went on to say:

“The fact that we get to participate in it…we are an American brand, and I think it’s very appropriate that the Rockettes dance in the inaugural, and 4th of July, and our country’s great historical moments.”

The white male owner doesn’t seem to understand or care that celebrating Trump is one of the most humiliating things a woman can do.

At this point, however, it should come as no surprise that his supporters don’t care about women. After a video of him bragging about sexual assault surfaced online, he still got elected.

During the meeting, the dancers told Dolan how difficult the election had been for people they knew. Referencing the violent rhetoric that lead to several hate crimes, he replied:

“How can they be your friends if they’re not tolerant of a different opinion?”

When asked if he’s requesting the dancers to be “tolerant of intolerance,” he replied:

“Yeah, in a way I guess we are doing that. What other choices do we have? What else would you suggest?”

According to another article by Marie Claire, no women of color have signed up to perform for the white supremacist.
