Washington Post: Senate Delaying Trump Cabinet Nominees ‘Unprecedented’ (VIDEO)

Washington Post reporter, Ed O’Keefe, accused Democrats in Congress of “slow-walking” Donald Trump’s cabinet picks. Republicans have been blocking and obstructing everything President Barack Obama has done.

It’s been almost a year since he nominated Merrick Garland to be a Supreme Court Justice. The Senate has refused to hold hearings for him. During the election, the GOP said that they would never confirm any of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s Supreme Court nominees if she had become president.

Incoming Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) says that Senate Democrats will scrutinize several of Trump’s cabinet choices. For instance, his pick for Secretary of Health and Human Services, Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), wants to privatize Medicare.

Schumer said:

“President-elect Trump is attempting to fill his rigged cabinet with nominees that would break key campaign promises and have made billions off the industries they’d be tasked with regulating. Any attempt by Republicans to have a series of rushed, truncated hearings before Inauguration Day and before the Congress and public have adequate information on all of them is something Democrats will vehemently resist. If Republicans think they can quickly jam through a whole slate of nominees without a fair hearing process, they’re sorely mistaken.”

The Republicans are rushing trying to get Trump’s cabinet picks confirmed before Inauguration Day. Many Senate Democrats are saying that they will not confirm anyone who they feel is unfit for the job. Many of Trump’s picks are unfit for their jobs.

He appointed a brain surgeon, Dr. Ben Carson, to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). He appointed restaurant CEO, Andrew Puzder to the Secretary of Labor. Sounds good, right? Wrong. Puzder is opposed to a federal minimum wage, overtime pay, and benefits packages for employees. He also appointed a Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, who doesn’t believe in public education.
