Some Guy Started A GoFundMe To Protect Betty White From 2016 (VIDEO)

This year has taken one heck of a toll on the entertainment business and the people that we love and cherish from the big screen to the stage and Demetrios Hrysikos is pulling double duty to make sure Betty White stays safe from 2016.

Hrysikos started a GoFundMe fundraising site that promises he will do everything he can to keep Betty White alive and safe from the curse of 2016. He states:

“Help 2016 catch these hands if it goes anywhere near Betty White!”

Jokingly Hrysikos says that the funds raised will be used to “fly to wherever Betty White is and keep her safe till Jan 1, 2017.” In all reality the money will actually be donated to the Spartanburg Little Theatre to:

“…help craft new stars of stage and screen to carry mantle of the legends that have left us this year.”

The Spartanburg Little Theatre is a non-profit organization that is largely run by volunteers and can use all the help they can in crafting our future entertainers and artists.

This year has been tough as we have lost some of the greats including, but not limited to, David Bowie, Doris Roberts, Chyna, Prince, Kimbo Slice, Gwen Ifill and Leonard Cohen. Just in the month of December we tragically lost John Glenn, Alan Thicke, Zsa Zsa Gabor, George Michael, Ricky Slice and Carrie Fisher.

Hrysikos’s fundraising event has raised more than the $2,000 he originally set out to raise and the numbers keep climbing.

Here’s hoping we manage to make it out of 2016 without any more losses, shocks, political debacles, or crazy events. Let’s take a look at those we lost over the last year.
