AL Governor Considering Suspended RWNJ Judge For Senate (VIDEO)

Roy Moore is the suspended Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. Now that Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions has been appointed the Attorney General, someone has to finish out Jeff Sessions’ senate term. Roy Moore is on the shortlist for the position.

The Governor, Robert Bentley, gets to decide who to put in that senate seat. He has interviewed 10 candidates including Moore. Moore has ignored federal laws before, how can we trust him in the Senate? Jeff Sessions was bad, but this dude is even worse.

He was suspended from his post as Chief Justice because he wouldn’t follow the ruling that made same-sex marriage legal. He pulled the ridiculous stunt of sending letters to the counties telling them not to issue licenses to same-sex couples.

In September, he was suspended without pay, and he owed court costs. Like it or not, states have to abide by federal rulings. In October, he had this to say about it:

“It’s a de facto removal. To have the Court of the Judiciary say that we can’t remove you because we didn’t have the votes, but we can suspend you for two-and-a-half years nearly (the rest of Moore’s term), that’s completely improper.”

This isn’t the first time Moore has had legal troubles. Back in the 1990s, Moore was a circuit judge in Gadsden, Alabama, and he got in trouble for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom. He also was told to stop having prayers before meetings.

He has no business being a government official considering he once said:

“Separation of church and state was never meant to separate God and government.”

Actually, Mr. Moore, that’s exactly what it means. This guy needs to actually read the Constitution. A person who can’t follow the law has no business making laws. He is a horrible representative for Alabama.
