The ‘War On Women’ Continues As Planned Parenthood Is Defunded (VIDEO)

The “War on Women” continues, and this time, it’s in Texas, where State Health Officials just delivered a final legal notice to defund Planned Parenthood.

It started over a year ago, after undercover video footage taken at the healthcare provider reignited the abortion debate. Employees are heard talking about the sale of fetal tissue, which is completely legal and contributes to scientific research.

Texas Health and Human Services Inspector General Stuart Bowen defended the defunding, saying:

“Your misconduct is directly related to whether you are qualified to provide medical services in a professionally competent, safe, legal and ethical manner. Your actions violate generally accepted medical standards, as reflected in state and federal law, and are Medicaid program violations that justify termination.”

He claims the clinic was trying to profit from the sale of fetal tissue by charging more than necessary. Planned Parenthood has denied the allegations.

According to a June 2016 report, Planned Parenthood provides healthcare services to more than four million Texans on Medicaid. Cancer screenings, gynecological exams, and routine health checks are conducted more than abortions.

Defunding Planned Parenthood is a valid concern with the incoming administration. President-elect Donald Trump initially supported a form of punishment for women who have an abortion, then redacted by saying:

“The woman is a victim in this case as is the life in her womb. My position has not changed — like Ronald Reagan, I am pro-life with exceptions.”

Trump has also made it clear that he wants to appoint an anti-choice Supreme Court Judge, a move that many fear could overturn Roe v. Wade.

Trump’s cabinet picks and even his running mate, Vice President-elect Mike Pence, are vehemently anti-choice. Pence once penned a legislation that would require all aborted fetuses to be cremated or buried.

It was shot down by the Supreme Court.

His Labor Secretary pick, Andrew Puzder, wanted Missouri to define life at the beginning of conception. He’s also the executive officer of Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr., the latter of which sells burgers by having women simulate oral sex.

Planned Parenthood has 15 days to appeal but said it would ask the courts to block them from being defunded.
