President-elect Donald Trump is working to fill his cabinet positions before he is sworn into office.
Tony Perkins, head of the extremist Family Research Council, is calling on Trump to get rid of the LGBT employees there. He said:
“To carry out this extreme agenda, the Obama administration has systematically filled the ranks of State with LGBTQ and abortion activists. Unless the next secretary of state is willing to resist and remove this embedded agenda, the promotion and protection of true human rights, like religious liberty, will continue to languish.”
Perkins wants Trump to conduct a witch hunt, basically. Surprisingly, Trump’s team actually disagreed.
Trump spokesman Jason Miller said:
“President-elect Trump campaigned on a message of unity in order to bring all Americans together. To think that discrimination of any kind will be condoned or tolerated in a Trump Administration is simply absurd.”
Hopefully, Trump doesn’t go back on this. He seems to be flip-flopping on many of his views since the election, but waving a flag doesn’t mean he supports LGBT rights.

Rex Tillerson, CEO of ExxonMobil, has been appointed Secretary of State. Perkins is calling on him to get rid of the LGBT employees.
Perkins claims:
“I’ve personally heard the concerns from foreign ambassadors and frequently hear from Members of Congress who have received complaints for foreign officials over how the administration has linked foreign aid to the adoption of the State Department’s LGBTQ and pro-abortion agendas.”
This is just ridiculous. Religious leaders shouldn’t be trying to worm their way into politics so much. There is no secret “gay agenda,” they are just people fighting for their civil rights.
If they are qualified, then they should have the opportunity to work in the White House. Of course, it is illegal to discriminate against people of the LGBT community. No one is above the law.
Hopefully, people will be punished if they are caught discriminating.
