Harry Reid: GOP ‘Doesn’t Have The Nerve’ To Repeal Obamacare (VIDEO)

President-elect Donald Trump has promised to repeal and replace Obamacare, and the RWNJs in Congress are happy to do it.

In the days following the election, Republicans were already talking about repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA). They have tried and failed to repeal it 60 times. The ACA, more commonly called Obamacare, gave insurance to 20 million people who didn’t have it before. The insured rate is up to 90 percent because of it.

Out-going Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is speaking out against repealing Obamacare. He said:

“They don’t have enough nerve to repeal Obamacare. And if they do, they are just a lot more visionless than I can imagine. Let them repeal it. They will rue the day.”

The Republicans are saying that their plan is to immediately repeal the Affordable Care Act, but they are going to leave Obamacare in place for a few years while they think of something else. Experts are warning us that the state marketplaces would fail if the law is taken away.

Reid paints a bleak picture of what will happen if Obamacare is repealed. He said:

“Can you think of — maybe there is something more cold and calculated and mean-spirited than that: ‘Let’s have a few people die.’ Because that’s what’ll happen. You get rid of Obamacare, people are going to die.”

It may be incendiary, but Reid’s predictions of people dying are grounded in research. Many health experts agree that people with insurance are healthier. People who can afford to go to the doctor can get treatment when they are sick. They can afford preventative care, and they are less likely to put off getting help because of money. They are also less likely to accumulate medical debt as well.

The survey also asked about people who live in the states that expanded Medicaid. They are more likely to have a regular doctor and regular places to go for care. Hopefully, the GOP will realize this and change their minds.
