Police Force In Small Indiana Town Quits After Requests To Do ‘Unethical’ Things (VIDEO)

The entire police force in the small community of Bunker Hill, Indiana, has quit. They were punished for pulling over town officials and they were told to do “immoral, unethical things.”

One of the officers and former marshall, Michael Thomison, was asked by a council member to perform background checks on other council members. Some even asked for unrestricted access to police files.

The officers who ticketed town officials or their spouses were punished by getting “written up.” They had the write-ups in their files as a disciplinary action.

Thomison said:

“We can’t make this up. They were just not receptive to having a police department.”

There was also the issue of the officers’ safety. The entire police force was forced to share one set of body armor. Police officers already risk their lives every day; there is no excuse for this.

Thomison also said:

“I did not want to send someone out there with bad body armor so I would take mine off and provide it to the other officers. I told them we have to provide this, there is an IC code that explains that and says that the town has to provide that body armor.”

The Council President Brock Speer said that he was “blindsided” by the resignations. However, the council accepted them with little comments.

Thomison said his resignation is personal. He was diagnosed with cancer last May, and he took some time off work. When he was ready to come back, he had his hours cut. He was told it was because he was costing the town too much money with his insurance. He will be filing a lawsuit against them.

The town is now struggling to find new police officers. Obviously, some of their candidates have refused the positions.
