More Revenge From Trump: Twitter Founder/CEO @jack Not Invited To Tech Summit — Sad!

President-elect Donald Trump is continuing his revenge mission, and the latest victim is Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter.

Today there is a Tech Summit in New York where the who’s who of tech companies will be attending, but Donald Trump has made sure Jack Dorsey will not.  Trump believes that Twitter was unfairly biased towards Hillary during the campaign.

Twitter refused to run a hashtag campaign saying #crookedhillary. A Twitter spokesperson explained why they would not run the hashtag at the time:

“We have had specific discussions with several political organizations, including the Trump campaign, regarding branded emojis as part of broad advertising campaigns on Twitter. We believe that political advertising merits a level of disclosure and transparency that branded political emojis do not meet, and we ultimately decided not to permit this particular format for any political advertising.”

Basically, they were worried that it would not be clear that is was a sponsored ad and not endorsed by Twitter. As recode points out, Twitter is actually trying to be politically unbiased. Ironically as a result of this refusal Twitter was attacked by Trump’s camp for being biased.

It is obvious that Trump is going after people who did not support him during his campaign, just look at him toying with Mitt Romney.

Another irony to this story is that Donald Trump uses Twitter like a mad man. He tweets all day and all night. He uses this platform excessively and spent millions with them on his campaign. It appears that if you don’t ‘flatter‘ Trump you are not in his inner circle. Jack Dorsey stands out as a hugely significant tech name that has not been invited to a Tech Summit, one that he really ought to be attending.

Twitter is a major player and influencer of public opinion. It appears as if Trump is holding a grudge against the CEO for not doing exactly what he wanted, even though it could be argued that his incessant use of the platform contributed to Trump’s win. The result is that now the whole Tech world suffers by not involving this very important player.

This is not how politics should work.
