OK Forces Small Businesses To Foot $2.3M Bill For Anti-Choice Signs In Granny’s Bathroom

Oklahoma has a ridiculous idea to try and decrease abortions. They plan on forcing business such as restaurants, hospitals, and even nursing homes (yes, NURSING HOMES!) to display anti-choice signs in public women’s restrooms.

One of the many problems with this is that the legislature didn’t allocate any money for these signs. Businesses and other organizations will have to pay over $2 million for them.

Jim Hooper, president of the Oklahoma Restaurant Association, said that this bill unfairly targets small businesses by making them pay for the state’s abortion agenda. Mr Hooper is right. Putting up these signs is a waste of time and money. Their lawmakers claim that these bathroom signs are part of that effort.

The signs will read:

“There are many public and private agencies willing and able to help you carry your child to term and assist you and your child after your child is born, whether you choose to keep your child or to place him or her for adoption. The State of Oklahoma strongly urges you to contact them if you are pregnant.”

Oklahoma has started an initiative to strive for an “abortion-free” society. They are allowed to not like abortion, but they can’t ban it completely.

This is not the first time Oklahoma has tried to pass extreme anti-choice measures. Earlier this year, they tried to pass a law saying that doctors would only be allowed to perform an abortion if the mother’s life was in danger. Luckily, that bill was vetoed.

Another time, Oklahoma tried to pass a law saying that a doctor’s medical license could be revoked for performing abortions. The only exceptions were when the mother is having a miscarriage or the mother’s life is in danger.

This kooky state just seems to be really wanting to ban abortions.
