With the CIA now having confirmed that hackers from Russia did indeed interfere with the 2016 election to help ensure Donald Trump would be the next president, there’s been a lot of discussion about how the United States can defend against cyber attacks in the future. But we can all relax, because former half-term Alaska governor Sarah Palin says she’s on the case.
Sunday evening, this post appeared on Palin’s Twitter account:
Russia's getting out of hand? So says the defeated. Not to worry… remember I can keep an eye on them from here. https://t.co/jQBCDV5O3W
— Sarah Palin (@SarahPalinUSA) December 12, 2016
Palin’s ignorant tweet echoes something she said during the 2008 campaign when she was John McCain’s running mate:
They’re our next-door neighbors. And you can actually see Russia, from land, here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.
Tina Fey later took that line and modified it a bit for comic purposes, commenting on Saturday Night Live:
“I can see Russia from my house!”
So now you can rest easy in the knowledge that Stupid Sarah is keeping a close eye on those Russian hackers.
Is it just me, or are you also amazed this woman even knows how to power up a computer?
