Attorney Lisa Bloom Gives Scary Prediction: ‘Roe v. Wade Ends In 2017’ (VIDEO)

One of the most frightening realities of President-elect Donald Trump taking office is the lasting impact his Supreme Court picks could have on American policy. Civil rights Attorney Lisa Bloom appeared on MSNBC to talk to host Joy Reid about just how scary that prospect is in regards to abortion rights and birth control.

Bloom believes Ohio’s “heartbeat bill,” which bans abortion as soon as a heartbeat can be detected (around six weeks, before most women even realize they are pregnant), opens the door for all sorts of restrictive abortion laws. Her most dire warning:

“Because Donald Trump can appoint Supreme Court justices, he’s going to appoint one immediately… We have three others who are the liberals who are 78 years old or older. So it is a very, very real risk that Roe v. Wade ends in 2017 or 2018.”

Roe v. Wade is the 1973 Supreme Court case that has largely been responsible for keeping a woman’s right to an abortion legal.

Bloom also tells Reid about the very real impact that striking down Roe v. Wade would have:

“And let’s be clear on the factual level — what happens when women don’t have the right to choose? Women die, girls die. Up to 5,000 women and girls died every year in the pre-Roe v. Wade years… And that’s what we’re going to return to in Ohio and nationwide if women lose the right to choose.”

Finally, even if Trump’s Supreme Court picks are not able to repeal Roe v. Wade, Bloom also has a warning about Trump’s pick for Secretary of Health and Human Services, Tom Price. Bloom claims that Price:

“…Could not be more out of touch with women’s reality.”

Price has pledged to repeal the provision of the Affordable Care Act that forces insurance providers to cover birth control.

Trump’s administration seems like it could be particularly dangerous for women. Not surprising from President-elect pussy grabber. See everything Bloom had to say to Joy Reid below:
