Florida Cop Says Of Racist, Homophobic Facebook Postings: I’m Not Racist, You Are

A police officer in Bradenton, Florida, who made racist and homophobic postings on Facebook has finally been removed from the police force, but he isn’t sorry in the least for his hateful actions, insisting that if what he wrote is racist, then that makes you a racist for thinking so.

Talk about badly flawed logic.

Mark Roberts was terminated effective December 1 following a nearly four-month investigation which was launched by internal affairs into his social media activity.

One of the comments made on the social media platform was directed at the father of a 17-year-old black youth who had been shot and killed by a homeowner during what police alleged was a burglary. Roberts posted this in response to the grieving father:

“I’m glad your kid is dead. Now go make another one.”

During the investigation, Roberts also admitted that he had frequently made offensive and mocking comments online about homosexuals.

But hey, Roberts insists it was all just a joke because he doesn’t hate African-Americans or gays.

As for the posting he made about the dead young man, Roberts informed investigators he made that remark because he was sick and tired of some people making excuses for their actions and blaming homeowners or law enforcement when suspected criminals were shot.

Apparently Officer Roberts cannot see his own hypocrisy.

In the report issued by internal affairs, one investigator wrote this about the fired cop:

“Officer Roberts stated he did not view his post as a stereotype towards black people, and ‘If you do, I’m not the one with the racist views.'”

In other words, he used the defense of the moronic racist asshole who knows he hates others but tries to deflect his own hatred by saying you must be racist if you see any racism in him. It’s a common theme among those who want to feel superior to others because they cannot stomach their own personal inadequacy.

Roberts plans to contest his removal from the force, and in the meantime will probably be found on Facebook casting verbal stones at others from the pretend safety of his glass house.
