WATCH: Tomi Lahren Pushes Us And Them Mentality Over Ohio Stabbing

Tomi Lahren is a 24-year-old, right-wing Vlogger who has found huge popularity on social media. Tomi is famous for controversial rants about issues such as Black Lives Matter and the Colin Kaepernick anthem story.

Tomi prides herself on being outspoken and opinionated, and she now has more followers on Facebook than Donald Trump.

There are many people who seem to have confused something here. When liberals defend Muslims, they are not defending radicals; they are defending the moderate, peaceful majority. We don’t believe it is fair that the whole faith be blamed for the acts of these extremes.

In her latest rant in Final Thoughts on Blaze while talking about the recent Ohio stabbing, Lahren said:

“We only had to give it five minutes before the mainstream media went to work warning us of the dangers of Islamophobia, rather than the real life danger of Radical Muslims.”

Liberals are just as concerned about radical Islam as anyone else. Yes we do need to look at ways of helping to combat an extreme ideology that leads people to act in these terrible ways. We also need to stop lumping everyone in with each other.

Just as the majority of white people would not want to be associated with the KKK, the large number of white school shooters, Dylan Roof, or Adolf Hitler, moderate Muslims don’t want to be associated with their violent radicals.

Lahren lists a number of attacks carried out by Muslims in her rant. The problem is she does not rant about violent attacks inspired by ideologies from other religions when they occur.

Yes there is a disturbing, complicated insurgence coming from radical Islam across the world at the moment. However, the media is right to warn of the danger of pointing fingers at ALL Muslims.

The Danger Of An ‘Us And Them’ Mentality

This kind of talk is not helping at all. These are simply inflammatory remarks. It would take real courage to speak of unity with moderates at times like this. Instead, Lahren is again adding to the narrative of ‘Us versus Them.’ No good can come from marginalizing moderate Muslims, just as we don’t want moderate Republicans to side with white supremacists. This is just fueling the current mood of polarization and it is not heading anywhere peaceful.

Sadly, Donald Trump echoes Lahren’s remarks with this tweet on the matter, saying the man should not have been in “our country”:
