Trump Confidant Threatens Clinton Prosecution After Recount (VIDEO)

Infamous GOP strategist and Trump confidant Roger Stone suggested that Hillary Clinton could face a greater risk of prosecution after joining Jill Stein’s recount efforts in several states.

The Green Party candidate first called for a recount in Wisconsin, and is looking into the possibility of doing so in two other states as well. Although Clinton’s camp has emphasized that they have found no evidence of election fraud, they have decided to cooperate with the recount effort, much to the chagrin of the Trump camp.

In an interview with host Steve Malzburg, Stone claimed that the recount effort is being funded by George Soros, although he offered no evidence or proof that his claim is even remotely true.

Of course, despite what Donald Trump and his cronies may think, the President cannot order someone’s prosecution. It’s illegal for the President to appoint special prosecutors. Only Congress and the Attorney General have the power to do that. Trump himself has publicly appeared to back off those threats. His mouthpiece Kellyanne Conway seems to think this makes him a saint:

“He’s been incredibly gracious and magnanimous to Secretary Clinton at a time when, for whatever reason, her folks are saying they will join in a recount to try to somehow undo the 70-plus electoral votes that he beat her by.”

So Trump is a great guy for not doing something illegal? Wow. The definition of sainthood must really be changing.

Stone’s notoriety for spreading unsubstantiated rumors and conspiracy theories seems to be par for the course when it comes to how Trump and his advisers are approaching the most important elected office in the country. Who knows where we go from here? Threats, blackmail, unconstitutional behavior… you’ve picked a real winner, America.

It’s going to be a long, difficult, next few years.
