White Bullies Beat 8-Year-Old African-American Child, Tell Him To ‘Go Back To The Cotton Farm’

Since Donald Trump became President-elect on November 8, hate crimes have risen dramatically across the United States. The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks such incidents, says 437 acts of verbal and physical harassment have been reported as of November 17.

And now in Louisiana, we have one of the most disturbing cases of pure hatred yet seen.

Jordan Jackson, who is 8, was defending his 4-year-old sister from a group of older children — all of those harassing the little were white, and one was 13. When Jordan asked the kids to stop, one of the bullies told him, “You need to go back to the cotton farm.” The 8-year-old was pushed and body slammed to the ground, breaking one of his arms and giving him a concussion.

Jordan’s uncle, Cris Colbert created a GoFundMe page to help pay for the child’s medical expenses, and he wrote that Jordan “understands the connotation of that statement [made my the bullies] because we’ve had those conversations before.” Colbert was hoping to raise $5,000 for Jackson’s hospital bills, but has so far raised over $23,000 in only three days. One person who donated commented:

“I am so deeply saddened that these kinds of things still happen and that there is such hate and prejudice in the world.”

The school Jordan attends– Spanish Lake Primary School in Geismar, Louisiana–told the Jackson family they are not liable because the incident occurred after official school hours and involved at least one child who was not a student at the school.

Another person who donated to the GoFundMe account said what we all must be feeling as we read this story and wonder why this sudden wave of hatred is sweeping across our country:

“Get better soon little boy and know that there are millions of Americans that are NOT racist and that you deserve to have the best life possible.”
