Trump Meets With Business Partners From India, In Violation Of ‘Blind Trust’ Agreement

Remember when President-elect Trump said he would be handing off his business enterprise to his children and claiming (incorrectly) this meant he was placing his assets in a blind trust? Well a week after making that now-broken pledge, Trump and his three eldest children met with Indian business partners at Trump Tower in Manhattan.

So much for that promise. Then again, so much for any promise Donald Trump makes.

However, in meeting with people he has business interests with in India, Trump clearly violated rules in place which prevent such actions by an elected federal officer.

Oh, and before the Trump defenders try to say the “liberal media” is just making this all up, here’s a photo released by one of the men who met with Don the Con:

When contacted for comment, transition spokeswoman Breanna Butler said everything was copacetic, and then gave her added:

“It was not a formal meeting of any kind.”

Of course not, because a formal meeting might have someone taking minutes, and God knows we don’t want any record of what was discussed in that room. Such a thing could be used in a court of law. Or an impeachment trial.

So the men didn’t discuss any actual business? Well, that would seem to fly in the face of what Kalpesh Mehta told India’s Economic Times. Mr. Mehta says that Donald Trump Jr. expressed a keen interest in expanding the family’s penetration of the Indian market. Keep in mind Daddy Donnie was at that same meeting.

If you were still wondering just how deep the crap is that continually flows out of our President-elect’s mouth when he issues blanket denials about being the least bit involved in his business dealings now that he’s been elected, consider this word of warning from Noah Bookbinder of the government accountability agency CREW:

“Donald Trump’s children and son-in-law have been deeply involved in the transition and selecting who will be part of his administration. At the same time they are deeply involved in the business. There does not seem to be any sign of a meaningful separation of Trump government operations and his business operations.”

Why did Donald Trump run for president? Simple, to make money. Lots and lots and lots of money. Because he’s a greedy pig who thinks the law doesn’t apply to him.
