‘Hamilton’ Cast To Pence: Afraid Your Administration ‘Will Not Protect Us’ (VIDEO)

Last night Mike Pence took a little time off from his busy schedule of helping Donald Trump ruin America to take in a Broadway show. His show of choice was the groundbreaking smash hit Hamilton.

The night started off on an awkward note when the Vice President-elect entered the theater. Some of his fellow audience members stood and clapped for him, but the vast majority were not happy to see him. Take a look and listen at this video taken by an audience member posted yesterday:

Not exactly the warmest of welcomes.

When the entire cast was assembled on the stage for curtain call at the end of the performance, actor Brandon Victor Dixon delivered a message directly to Mike Pence on behalf of the whole cast:

“Vice President-elect Pence, we welcome you and we truly thank you for joining us here at Hamilton: An American Musical. We really do. We, sir — we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our families, our children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights. But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us, all of us. Again we truly thank you for sharing this show: this wonderful American story told by a diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds and orientations.”

The audience then erupted in cheers.

Of course our Tweeter-in-Chief Donald Trump heard about the happenings at the show and the message afterwards, and of course had an inappropriate and overreactive answer to the news.

First of all, the message delivered by Brandon Victor Dixon was not harassment, and should be classified as such. And second, the New York Yankees get booed far more often than Mike Pence has in the city.

Get over it. And if you have a heart, listen to the message.
