KKK Guy David Duke Gleefully Tweets Excitement About Trump’s Cabinet Picks (TWEETS/VIDEO)

David Duke is a former grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan and a vocal supporter of President-elect Donald Trump and his transition team. And he has claimed that white nationalists were responsible for Trump’s victory.

The fact that he sees Trump’s election as an indication of success for his racist, anti-Semitic, white supremacist beliefs should terrify everyone who cares about vulnerable populations in America.

And now, he is expressing great enthusiasm for Trump’s Cabinet appointments.

Yikes.

The Future White (Nationalist) House

Already, many progressives and civil rights advocates have rightfully condemned these Cabinet picks. The implications of placing virulently racist men in key White House roles are terrifying. But unsurprisingly, conservative pundits are arguing that progressives are overreacting and blowing things completely out of proportion to create unnecessary fear.

Well, they’re wrong. And if they want to find instances of fear-mongering, they need look no further than this tweet from Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn, newly appointed national security adviser.

There’s a reason Duke and his fellow white nationalists are thrilled. For the first time in contemporary America, their hateful views have a prominent place in the highest echelons of government.

Duke is clearly confident that these men represent his interests. And as despicable as he is, this confidence isn’t unfounded. He praised a blatantly anti-Semitic post that Flynn himself retweeted on his own account.

This isn’t even subtle racism. It’s as overt as can be.

At this point, you’d have to be willfully blind to deny that the White House is being overtaken by a team of white nationalists. If Progressives and Democratic politicians aren’t incredibly vigilant, this country is at serious risk of reversing some of its most fundamental civil rights triumphs.

Oh, and Duke isn’t the only white supremacist praising Trump’s Cabinet picks. Rocky J. Suhayda, Chairman of the American Nazi Party (yes, that is apparently a real thing) praised Steve Bannon’s appointment as chief strategist of the White House in an email to CNN:

“I must admit that I was a wee bit surprised that Mr. Trump finally chose Mr. Bannon, I thought that his stable of Washington insiders would have objected too vociferously. Perhaps The Donald IS for ‘REAL’ and is not going to be another controlled puppet directed by the usual ‘Wire Pullers,’ and does indeed intend to ROCK the BOAT? Time will tell.”

So I’ve had enough of the nonsense about how Trump’s new Cabinet might not be as bad as progressives are making it seem.

Here’s a good rule of thumb: If the KKK and the American Nazi Party are enthusiastically endorsing people, those people probably shouldn’t be in the White House.
