Alex Jones — RWNJ extraordinaire, radio talk show host, and operator of the conspiracy theory-laden websites Infowars and PrisonPlanet — would like to tell everyone that President-elect Donald Trump called him personally to thank him (and his listeners). According to Jones, Trump eschewed mainstream media and put off calling his good friend Putin so that he could give Infowars and Jones’ fans a big, sloppy, wet kiss.

Alex Jones is, in a nutshell, a conspiracy theorist. Among his more vile beliefs are that the shootings at Sandy Hook (among other school shootings) were orchestrated by the government and that the people involved were actors.
Of course, that’s just the tip of the Alex Jones iceberg of insanity.
He has also claimed that Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Obama are actual demons and that Billy Bush is a CIA operative who “set up” Trump’s “grab them by the pussy” comment. He loves the CIA stories — he also said Obama’s mother was a sex operative for the CIA (following the claim with “you just cannot make this stuff up.” Hello irony, my old friend).

So, What’s Trump Got To Do With It?
Trump is a longtime ally of Jones, that ol’ enemy of the mainstream. Our new Führer supposedly called Alex Jones to thank his audience, and Jones says that Trump will appear on The Alex Jones Show in the coming weeks.
This. Is. Not. OK.
We cannot pretend like this is normal behavior for the man who will be president. We cannot keep siting idly by while the President-elect hires white supremacists and cozies up to conspiracy theorists.
In August, Jones said:
“And I’ll tell you it is surreal to talk about issues here on air and then word-for-word hear Trump say it two days later. It is amazing. And it just shows how dialed-in this guy is and that’s why they’re so scared of him.”
Surreal, yes. Amazing? No. Not to anyone who understands the implications of this.
You see, with Jones, Trump can say anything. He can push any idea — no matter how nutty — and Jones will embrace it. The more outlandish, the better.
