Rosalynn Carter Appears At Campaign Event And Gives Hilarious Speech In Favor Of Clinton (VIDEO)

First Lady Rosalynn Carter, the wife of former President Jimmy Carter, gave a riveting and hilarious speech on Friday at a campaign event for Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in Albany, New York.

Mrs. Carter, known for her wit and humor, started her campaign speech with:

“How many of you have heard of the comedian Louis C.K?”

The event in Albany was put together by Rep.Winfred Dukes, D-Albany, where members of the community were invited to a conversation luncheon at the Albany Welcome Center. Dukes introduced Mrs. Carter by stating:

“She is an advocate for people. There is no better service.”

Mrs. Carter spoke to the crowd about civic engagement and how helping others in the community was vital to a healthy community. She continued her speech talking about different scenarios of civic engagement and then ended with speaking about Clinton and her support for the presidential nominee. Carter stated:

“A thing I like about Hillary is she’s a mother and a grandmother. She has one daughter and two grandbabies, and she’ll be concerned about children. She’ll see to it that they have a good education and good health care.”

Mrs. Carter continued her discussion of Louis C.K. and his recent appearance on Conan where he expressed his love for Hillary Clinton as the “mother of our country.” Mrs. Carter said:

“One of my grandsons sent me an article about him. He’s a comedian, and he had a TV show. He uses some pretty bad words. I’m going to tell you what he said on the Conan O’Brien show about mothers:

‘I think it’s really exciting to have the first mother in the White House,’ Louis C.K. said. ‘It’s not about the first woman; it’s about the first mom.’

‘What is a mom?’ Conan asked?

‘A mom, she’s got it,’ CK said. ‘A mother just does it. She feeds you, and teaches you, she protects you and takes care of . . .’”

Mrs. Carter paused chuckling and looking out at the crowd.

“Well I can’t pronounce that word, I can’t say that word. But you know that word.”

After a few laughs, Mrs. Carter finished up her speech by discussing the Supreme Court and how this election season is vital to its standing. She stated:

“What worries me most is who will be making the Supreme Court decisions if the justices open up. If the wrong person wins, campaigns like ours’ will never happen again. You have to have millions of dollars even to become a candidate. And so, for years to come, money and millionaires will determine the outcome of our elections.”

We thank Mrs.Carter for continuing her civic duty to help elect Hillary Clinton as the next President of the United States.
