White Privilege Explained: Cop Killer With Violent Past Walks Away Alive (TWEET/VIDEOS)

Scott Michael Greene, a white man Urbandale, Iowa shot and killed two police officers last night as they were sitting in their patrol cars. There appeared to be no altercation between him and either cop before it happened.

According to Des Moines Police Sgt. Paul Parizek:

“It doesn’t look like there was any interaction between these officers and whoever the coward is who shot them while they sat in their cars.”

It wasn’t his first run-in with police, however.

Less than a month ago, on October 14, Greene filmed himself being asked by Iowa police to leave school property. In the video posted to his own YouTube page, he repeatedly tells the police that his rights were violated.

Unlike similar situations between Blacks and cops, he walked away unscathed.

His YouTube channel features an image of himself holding both the Confederate and American flag at the October 14 game. According to witnesses at the game, he was there to protest Blacks who sat during the National Anthem.

“Thousands more whites fought and died for their freedom. However this is not about the Armed forces, they are cop haters.”

Sitting during the National Anthem was started by Colin Kaepernick, a football player who did so to protest police brutality in the black community.

“I am not going to show up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”

Eric Garner was a Black man who died after experiencing a chokehold by police. On July 17, 2014, they confronted him about allegedly selling cigarettes illegally. Despite not being armed, several officers had him on the ground within minutes.

He can be heard saying, “I can’t breathe” shortly before dying. Yet the police never let up.

Philando Castille, a black man from Minnesota, was pulled over for a busted tail light. His fiancee, Diamond Reynolds, live streamed the encounter on Facebook. After telling the officer that he was licensed to carry a gun and keeping his hands in the air, the officer shot and killed him.

These are just two of the higher-profile incidents of the hundreds, and possibly thousands, that have happened in the last few years.

Greene was also charged back in 2014 for a misdemeanor, after refusing to allow officers to pat him down and check for weapons. He’s currently in police custody.
