The Dominoes Continue To Fall As Trump Loses More Major Endorsements (TWEETS)

Donald Trump has found himself losing support from many fellow Republicans; the list seems endless. From former presidents such as George H W Bush (Senior) to proud Republican, Arnold Schwarzenegger, there are not many of his fellow party members who can stand by the controversial nominee. Another group has also withheld support and that is the Log Cabin Republicans:

“Log Cabin Republicans is the nation’s largest Republican organization dedicated to representing LGBT conservatives and allies. For more than 30 years, we have promoted the fight for equality through our state and local chapters, our full-time office in Washington, DC, and our federal and state political action committees.”

In a Press Release directly from the Log Cabin Republicans, it states:

““Trust, but verify.”

So cautioned former President Ronald Reagan who inspired our founding in 1977—and it is a solemn understanding of that very instruction from our 40th president that compels Log Cabin Republicans to withhold endorsement from our Party’s current nominee.”

The statement went on to say:

“Mr. Trump is perhaps the most pro-LGBT presidential nominee in the history of the Republican Party. “

After recognizing Trump for sending “unprecedented overtures to the “LGBTQ community,” the Press Release hinted there was a big “BUT” coming:

“But Log Cabin Republicans have long emphasized that we are not a single-issue organization, nor are our members single-issue voters. Even if we were, rhetoric alone regarding LGBT issues does not equate to doctrine. As Mr. Trump spoke positively about the LGBT community in the United States, he concurrently surrounded himself with senior advisors with a record of opposing LGBT equality, and committed himself to supporting legislation such as the so-called “First Amendment Defense Act” that Log Cabin Republicans opposes.”

The Log Cabin Republicans recently retweeted this from Ana Navarro, another fellow Republican, who staunchly disapproves of Trump and has been extremely outspoken against his treatment of women:

The Log Cabin Republicans have endorsed a number of other Republicans for the Senate and the House of Representatives, however they have made a significant statement here by not endorsing the actual leader.

While there are gay supporters and some niche gay groups for Trump, the lack of endorsement from the Log Cabin Republicans, is just another in a long list of fellow Republican party members, that cannot fathom the idea of supporting him to take the highest office in the land.

It appears that Donald Trump has lost the support of a huge chunk of the Republican party. Did someone say mutiny?
