Tom Hanks was the host of Saturday Night Live last night, and for his monologue he decided to comfort all of us as the 2016 election draws to a close.
Hanks sat down in a chair and took on the role of “America’s Dad,” reminding us all:
“America is feeling a little nervous these days. And I’m a responsible father, so I thought maybe it’s time we had a little chat.”
Yes, Hanks admitted, the country has endured a “rough year,” but he assured the nation “you’re gonna be fine.”
Finally, the two-time Oscar winner said:
“All I came in here to say is you are great. Go show the world what else you can stuff inside a pizza crust.”
Thank you, Tom. We needed that.
