We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Stage — #NastyWomen Joining Forces

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is rushing to the finish line with the help of First Lady Michelle Obama. Clinton and Mrs. Obama will campaign together for the first time in North Carolina. North Carolina is deemed as a necessary win for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to even have a chance to secure the presidency, and the Clinton-Obama duo is hoping to solidify their presence and win votes from the state. The joint campaign will begin next Thursday in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

North Carolina Has Flip-Flopped, But Clinton-Obama Hope to Secure State

North Carolina helped to elect Barack Obama in 2008, but it flipped to the Republican side in 2012. Clinton is hoping to use the presence of Mrs. Obama to help persuade Black, Latino, and college-educated white voters – three demographics that tend to vote Democrat. In the past four years, these three groups have grown substantially in North Carolina and Clinton is going to take advantage of this to turn the tide in her favor – not like she is in dire need of help with her 12-point lead against Trump.

Michelle Obama – the Secret Weapon?

Even though Republicans have relentlessly attacked Mrs. Obama throughout the years, this election cycle has spotlighted her ability to draw praise from across the political spectrum. Brian Fallon, a spokesperson for Clinton, has noted that Mrs. Obama has been quite available to help aid Clinton.

On Sunday, Clinton toured throughout North Carolina, speaking in mostly Black churches. She spoke about Trump’s disdain for the Black community, with his constant rhetoric demonizing them. Clinton also criticized North Carolina’s Republican governor Pat McCrory and his disregard for the trans community with his bathroom bill. She singled out North Carolina Senate candidates like Roy Cooper and Deborah Ross, in the hopes of not only securing her position in the White House but also turning the Senate into a Democratic majority in the process.
