IMPORTANT INFO: How Much Postage To Use When Mailing Ballots (VIDEO)

In two-and-a-half weeks, we will be voting for the next president of the United States. It is quite a heated and historic election. It is the first time a major party has nominated a woman to be president. It is also the first time that a major party has nominated Cheeto Goblins.

Many states have started early voting already and many people are mailing in their ballots. Hillary Clinton seems to be leading among the people who are voting earlier. Democrats have a large lead in a few battleground states such as Arizona and Colorado.

For those of you who are mailing in ballots, you may need to add more postage to it. Since the ballots are two pages, they cost 67 cents to deliver instead of 47 cents.

However, you don’t need to panic if you forget or if you have already mailed yours. The ballots will still be delivered. If you mailed your ballot with only one stamp, it will get sent to the registrar of voters.

USPS customer relations coordinator Meiko Patton said:

“They’re still getting delivered. We understand the urgency and will deliver them to the registrars.”

In some states, the county or city may have to pay for the extra postage.

The United States Postal Service had this to say about voting by mail:

“States and localities are increasingly using mail in the election process. That’s why we’re committed to providing you with the training and tools necessary to implement successful and cost-effective mail strategies for any official state or local election.”

You can download the forms you will need on their website. Your local government web page should be able to help provide the forms as well. Either way, make sure you vote in this election. Vote Blue for the president and Congressional candidates and your local candidates.

Here is a segment from the Jimmy Kimmel Show about voting by mail:
