Oprah Confronts ‘Undecided’ Dems — ‘You Don’t Have To Like Her — Do You Like Democracy?’ (VIDEO)

Oprah Winfrey is known for her outspoken support of liberal causes. She was a huge supporter of President Barack Obama during his two elections, and she endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton way back in June.

The media superstar has been relatively quiet during the current campaign. She explained why she hasn’t had much to say so far during a conversation with Dallas based pastor T.D. Jakes. Winfrey explained:

“The reason why I haven’t been vocal, other than saying I’m with her, is because I didn’t know what to say that could actually pierce through all the noise and the chaos and the disgusting vitriol that’s going on and actually be heard.”

That’s certainly understandable. Oprah has a well earned reputation for class and graciousness. It would be hard to see how she could have responded to some of the heinous comments made by Republican presidential wannabe Donald Trump and his horde of deplorables.

Now, though, Oprah Winfrey has found her voice. She reacted to the fact that so many people express uncertainty about whether or not to vote for Hillary Clinton because they just don’t really like her.

Winfrey had a perfect response to that argument when she said:

“But there really is no choice, people. All the people sitting around talking about they can’t decide. This is what I what I wanna say {…} I hear this all the time. You get into conversations — and there’s not a person in this room who hasn’t been in this same conversation — where people say, ‘I just don’t know if I like her.’”

She pointed out that voters are asking themselves the wrong question when they wonder if they “like” Secretary Clinton. It doesn’t matter, she insisted, whether you like the woman or not.

Some of Winfrey’s strength and passion came out as she finished with these cautionary words:

“She’s not coming over to your house! You don’t have to like her. You don’t have to like her. Do you like this country? Do you like this country? You better get out there and vote. Do you like the country? Do you like freedom and liberty? Do you like this country? OK. Do you like democracy or do you want a demagogue?”

Good point, Oprah Winfrey, very good point. We aren’t electing a next door neighbor. We are electing the leader of the United States of America.

We don’t have to invite her for Sunday dinner. We just have to trust her with the nuclear codes.

There truly is only one choice.
