Taco Trolling–Taco Truck Wall Being Built Outside Trump’s Vegas Hotel

Just in time for Wednesday night’s third and final presidential debate, the Culinary Union is constructing a wall of taco trucks right outside of Donald Trump’s Las Vegas hotel.

The union will be joined by American Bridge, Latino Victory Project, PLAN Action, iAmerica Action, Center for Community Change Action, For Our Future, and 50 immigrant advocacy activists from Los Angeles, and Yvanna Cancela, the political director for the majority Latino and predominantly immigrant union, says their message should be clear:

“We’re reminding Mr. Trump that immigrant workers here and across the country will be watching the debate and voting in November.”

Ruben Kihuen, who is running to represent the 4th Congressional District in the House, will also be joining the taco truck protest, and said Trump is bad for workers across the country, especially those that seek to unionize:

“We’re protesting Donald Trump’s hotel here in Vegas, where a majority of workers voted to unionize, and shamefully Trump has failed to sit down at the table with them. As he has demonized Hispanics, women, veterans, and the disabled, we will send him and those who supported him like my opponent Congressman Cresent Hardy a message that we’re here and we vote.”

iAmerica president Rocio Saenz added that there’s a much deeper meaning to the novel protest:

“Everyone coming together is really about sending a message that we reject Trump and the politics of hate.”

Taco trucks became a subject of a national conversation earlier this year when a Trump surrogate declared on MSNBC that if immigration from Mexico isn’t stopped, there would soon be a taco truck on every corner in the United States.

Asked for comment, Trump advisor A.J. Delgado attempted to put a happy face on the taco truck wall being built:

“I never, EVER turn down a chance to eat some good tacos so I say ‘thanks’ for setting up shop right outside!”

Starting on November 9, Delgado and the rest of the Trumpkins will have lots of time to eat as many tacos as they want. They can even try to drown their sorrows in salsa.
