BREAKING: Trump Campaign Missed Deadline, Left Out Of Alaska Voter Guide

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is running the strangest political campaign in American history. And now, voters in Alaska won’t find his information in their voter’s guide.

Trump Campaign Neglected To Submit Information

Alaskan voters recived a printed guide in their mailboxes this past weekend, but that guide contained no information on Donald Trump and his political campaign.

As reported by The Hill:

“The voter guide, which hit mailboxes this weekend, includes candidate statements from Democrats Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, Green Party nominee Jill Stein and her running mate, Ajamu Baraka, the Constitution Party nominee and an independent candidate. But state elections officials say the Trump campaign and Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson did not submit materials ahead of an August 30 deadline.”

According to The Hill, the Trump campaign in Alaska neglected to submit the proper information by the deadline, thus the reason for his omission from the guide:

“Josie Bahnke, Alaska’s director of elections, sent letters to the Republican National Committee, Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Tuckerman Babcock, the chairman of the Alaska Republican Party, seeking information from the Trump campaign. But none of those groups responded in time to be included in the pamphlet.”

Trump Ahead In Alaska, But Not By Much

Alaska is considered a pretty solidly Republican state, having voted for the Republican candidate in every presidential election but one since its admittance to the union in 1959. Trump is, unsurprisingly, leading Alaska at the moment and will likely win its three Electoral College votes. Interestingly, though, Trump’s chances of winning the state have declined rapidly in recent weeks. According to Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight forecast, Trump’s chances of winning Alaska stood at 86.3 percent at the end of September. They have since dropped to 65.8 percent as of this writing.

That forecast shows his chances of winning, though, not the polling. Polls in Alaska currently have Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in a statistical tie.
