You Must See This Anti-Trump Billboard — Funded By Cards Against Humanity

A certain super PAC put up an odd billboard in Florida recently, comparing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to a specific type of whiny gamer. And people love it.

‘Donald Trump Mains Hanzo’

If you’re not a fan of the game Overwatch, that sentence likely means nothing to you. I will admit that it meant nothing to me an hour ago.

So if you see this billboard, you might be a little confused:

Luckily, the folks over at Salon put together a little summary for those of us not in the know:

“It refers to Hanzo Shimada, a character in Overwatch who is a Japanese archer-slash-assassin with ties to a criminal dynasty … Overwatch requires players to pick a character and then carry out an objective with their team to win. Some of the options are great all-purpose characters, useful in many situations. But Hanzo, who fires arrows, is hard to use and not always relevant. Players who ‘main’ Hanzo use him as often as possible, even if the situation doesn’t necessarily call for a Japanese assassin who fires arrows. When (not if) things go wrong, and if that player is a jerk, he will blame the whole team, even though he picked the wrong person to begin with.”

Knowing that, I’d say it couldn’t be more spot on.

Who Is The Super PAC Behind The Billboard?

The billboard was put up by the Nuisance Committee Super PAC, which happens to be led by the same people who created the deliciously irreverent game, Cards Against Humanity.

Aimed at college students (this particular billboard is actually on the University of Central Florida campus) as well as other young people who will understand it at first glance, the billboard serves as a reminder of the type of person Donald Trump really is.

The Florida billboard is scheduled to remain in place until the election. The super PAC also reports that they are planning on putting up billboards in other swing states, such as Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The website listed on the billboard is Trumpisnotateamplayer.com.  It depicts Trump as different Overwatch characters, each more annoying than the last.

The super PAC was also behind a billboard campaign in Illinois that sent users to Trumpdoesntpaytaxes.com.

Salon included a link to an animated short about Hanzo Shimada’s back story. It’s an interesting watch, and it’s making this old lady think about gaming again!
