BREAKING: Trump Used Funds From His Charity To Sign Donald Jr. Up For Boy Scouts (TWEETS/VIDEO)

As a parent, I’m no stranger to the fees that come with children’s activities. I’ve coughed up one-time as well as monthly fees for all sorts of fun stuff for my kids. Of course, unlike Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, I don’t have a huge charity from which to take the funds.

Trump Charity Gave $7 To Boy Scouts In 1989 – Huh?

Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold is in the midst of a deep dive into the Trump charity known as The Donald J. Trump Foundation (as well as looking into all of Donald Trump’s charitable giving).

Fahrenthold has been poring over the Trump charity’s documents, and there was one very small donation that he didn’t understand.

Until, perhaps, now.

Fahrenthold tweeted the following on October 14:

What he has confirmed is that the Donald J. Trump Foundation gave a donation of $7 to the Boy Scouts of America in 1989. He has also confirmed that the fee to join the Boy Scouts in that year was $7. Aside from that, the rest is speculation.

Now, why on earth would a foundation with the deep pockets of the Trump Foundation give a paltry $7 donation?

Was Trump Just Too Cheap To Pay His Son’s Joining Fee?

Speculation runs rampant on this one, of course. It has not escaped the attention of some that Donald Trump, Jr. was 11 years old in 1989, and thus eligible to join the Boy Scouts. A former fundraiser for the Scouts tweeted this:

Indeed. I will grant that it’s POSSIBLE that this is a legitimate donation. Some Twitter users thought maybe it was a popcorn purchase, but another user actually dug up a 1989 price list for Boy Scouts popcorn and it didn’t match up.

Given all we’ve heard about the Trump charity and what we know of the man himself, though, it actually seems more likely that it’s as shady as we think it is.

And Fahrenthold has floated this idea, too:

Whatever it is, it’s weird.

Maybe I’ll hit up the Trump Foundation the next time baseball fees are due …

Nah.
