BREAKING: Judge Rules Chris Christie Bridgegate Misconduct Case Can Move Forward

Just as we think that no one could be taking as much heat as presidential candidate Donald Trump, a judge signed a criminal summons accusing New Jersey Governor Chris Christie of misconduct in the 2013 Bridgegate scandal. The judge is recommending Christie be charged officially.

The former Port Authority executive, William Baroni, and former Christie deputy chief of staff, Bridget Anne Kelly, are currently standing trial over the matter. The two are accused of plotting a deliberate lane closure on the George Washington Bridge as an act of political retribution.

In an attempt to play childish games, the closure has been linked to retribution against the Mayor of Fort Lee, who refused to endorse Chris Christie for re-election. Several lanes of the bridge were closed on the first day of school in September of 2013.

The architect of the dangerous and chaotic plan, David Wildstein has already pleaded guilty and is cooperating with the U.S. Attorney’s office. Wildstein testified against Christie, admitting he had told him of the plans on September 11th of that year.

Of course, Christie denied any involvement or knowledge of the political payback and pretended to be surprised by the actions of his staff. The case will now be taken to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office where they will decide whether an indictment will be made.

With all of the drama surrounding the current election and Trump, we wonder how long it will take Trump to dump Christie. Christie is, and not to our surprise, one of Trump’s official advisors. So basically we have the crooked leading the corrupt.

The attorney representing Christie, in this case, has declined comment to the press.
