This Wednesday morning, a group of 60 women staged a protest outside of Trump Tower in New York City. This comes less than a week after some horrifying audio clips came out about Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. They were taken from an Access Hollywood bus in 2005. Trump was talking about being able to kiss women and grab them “by the pussy.”

Today’s protest was blocking traffic in and out of the office. They were condemning Trump’s:

“… Anti-women, anti-immigrant, and anti-black policies.”

Some of the signs read “Pussies in Formation,” “Cunt Touch This,” and others. The women were shouting:

“If Trump thinks he runs this town, pussy came to shut it down!”

One protester, Malika Connor, told the crowd:

“It’s not just Donald Trump. The GOP has attacked women’s bodies and our access to healthcare for decades. We are here to say, ‘GOP hands off women.'”

They left at around 8:30 a.m. They were fueled by honks from cars and shouts of “Fuck Trump!” from passerby.

One of the organizers, 33-year-old Nadya Stevens, said:

“It’s not about lewd language, it’s about sexual assault. It seems like this has reached a tipping point where people are finally saying this is not OK, and we just want to be here to topple this campaign.”

Another protester, Jane Pool, brought her 11-year-old daughter. She said she talked to her daughter after the tape came out:

“We needed to come here just for her to see we can say this is not OK. Her father, my husband, sat down with the kids around the table (after the ‘Access Hollywood’ tape emerged) and told them, ‘This is not OK, this is not how adults talk.’ But not all kids have someone to say that to them. They think, ‘Wow, this guy is on this huge level, and this is the way he talks.’ The kids are paying attention.”

These protesters are making a huge statement, and it’s awesome.
