LOL: This Crazy Conservative Wants Trump To ‘Be More Authoritarian’ (VIDEO)

Sometimes it seems like American conservatives live in a parallel universe. Super conservative Republican Governor Paul LePage of Maine certainly seems to create his own reality as he bumbles through life.

Sounds like another Republican in the news these days, right? So it’s no surprise that the blustering blowhard from the Pine Tree State is a huge fan of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The Huffington Post reports that the notoriously vulgar Maine leader has recently called on Trump to act more authoritarian.

Huh, you might ask, what’s he talking about? Ever since the videotape of Trump talking about groping women went public, Trump has been showing even more belligerence than usual.

In the second presidential debate, the conservative bully threatened Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton with a jail sentence. Completely ignoring the Constitution, he threatened to use his executive power to punish his political opponents.

In spite of that position, worthy of the worst banana republic dictator, Governor LePage claims that what this country needs is a real authoritarian leader.

LePage’s comments came during an interview on a conservative radio talk show in Maine. As is so often the case with right wing non-thinkers, LePage’s remarks were confusing and illogical. He said this to the show’s host:

“Sometimes I wondered that our Constitution is not only broken, but we need a Donald Trump to show some authoritarian power in our country and bring back the rule of law. Because we’ve had eight years of a president, he’s an autocrat, he just does it on his own, he ignores Congress and every single day, we’re slipping into anarchy.”

Do you see the irony there? LePage wants to see a more authoritarian leader to take the place of an autocrat.

He apparently doesn’t read much.

This whole situation seems to pretty well sum up the state of the Republican Party in the U.S. right now. We have a candidate in Donald Trump who promises to sidestep the Constitution and use his power to control his enemies.

Then one of the biggest conservative blowhards in the country encourages him to be “more authoritarian” because the guy in the White House now is, you know, too authoritarian.

Right.
