Female Trump Surrogate Says Women Aren’t ‘Affected’ By P*ssy Comment (VIDEO)

Insanity has reigned today, folks. Yesterday’s bombshell release of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s comment about grabbing women “by the p*ssy” has resulted in a growing list of top-level Republicans pulling their support. The die-hard Trump surrogates, however, are trying to explain it all away.

Trump Surrogate Scottie Nell Hughes: ‘No Woman Woke Up Affected’

Is it possible for a woman to mansplain?

Trump surrogate Scottie Nell Hughes appeared on Don Lemon’s CNN program to discuss the fallout from the Orange Menace’s comments about women, made in 2005. Also on the panel were conservative commentator Tara Setmayer and Democratic strategist Maria Cardona.

Setmayer had nothing but harsh words for Trump:

“If you want to get down to brass tacks here, this is catastrophic for Donald Trump, because most women are going to look at this and be repulsed by it, as they should be.”

Maria Cardona, a vocal supporter of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, said:

“If this was an isolated incident, as inappropriate and inexcusable as it was, you know, maybe. But this is 30 years in the running. Let’s not forget all the disgusting things he said on Howard Stern earlier in his career talking about what he would do to women, grading women’s bodies, degrading them, in fact saying he doesn’t respect women … Let’s be very clear, this man is an irredeemable pervert and sexual predator.”

Host Don Lemon then turned it over to Trump surrogate Hughes, who’d been smirking the entire time. She said:

“To Tara’s point, this is all about the female vote. While it’s wrong, it is a distraction. This morning, no woman woke up affected by these words.”

Cardona gasped, then sputtered:

“Are you kidding?! Did you just say that, Scottie?!”

My sentiments exactly, Ms. Cardona.

Hughes tried to continue, throwing out talking points and attempting to move the goalposts, of course. The panel, though, was completely taken aback.

I think we all are.
