A**hole Florida Governor Won’t Extend Voter Registration Deadlines…Even With Hurricane (VIDEO)

Florida has a crazy-cakes Republican Governor Rick Scott. He doesn’t believe in climate change, and he is willing to put his state in jeopardy over it. FEMA said that they won’t provide relief dollars to states that don’t have plans to deal with climate change.

Now, Florida is about to get hit by Hurricane Matthew. Thousands of people have had to evacuate the state, but Governor Scott won’t extend the voter registration deadline that is currently set for Tuesday.

He said:

“Everybody has had a lot of time to register. On top of that, we’ve got lots of opportunities to vote: Early voting, absentee voting and Election Day. So, I don’t intend to make any changes.”

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign asked Scott to extend the deadlines, so people who were evacuated can still register and be able to vote in the election.

Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook, said:

“The one thing that we are hoping and expecting is that officials in Florida will adapt deadlines to account for the storm,” campaign manager Robby Mook told reporters. “Our hope would be that a little bit more time would be given for people that were expecting to get registered before the election.”

When we get close to an election, there is usually a surge of voters registering right before the deadline. We need those voters.

Over 700 groups in Florida have collected 1.9 million voter-registration forms. Most of these groups are very left-leaning. Some of them were helping the poor and homeless people register. We need all of those votes to keep the Trumpkin from getting elected. Florida is one of the key states that we need to turn blue.

Jackie Schutz, a spokeswoman for Scott, who chairs a pro-Trump super PAC, said:

“For any political party to ask this in the middle of a storm is political. Our No. 1 focus is protecting life. There’ll be another day for politics.”
