Indiana Parade Float Depicts Trump Executing Hillary In Electric Chair, Town EXPLODES In Outrage (VIDEO/PHOTOS)

The small town of Aurora, Indiana holds a charming little parade once a year called the Aurora Farmers Fair Parade. Sponsored by the Aurora Lions Club, the parade typically showcases adorable parade features such as local high school marching bands, smiling and waving beauty pageant winners, cub scouts, and a float depicting Donald Trump executing Hillary Clinton. Wait… what?

Yes, you read that correctly. This year’s parade featured a float with a man dressed as Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump pulling the lever on an electric chair occupied by a man dressed as Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. The two “actors’ were accompanied by a man dressed as the grim reaper, a man dressed as a priest, and bizarrely, an Easter Island head painted in blackface and labeled “OBAMA.” The float was adorned with various Trump campaign slogans and other typical RWNJ jargon.

The deplorable float was the brainchild of resident funnyman, Frank Linkmeyer. In an interview with Cincinnati television station WCPO regarding the uproar over the float, Frank simply laughed it off as good old fashioned parody. Nothing says “funny” like one presidential candidate executing the other alongside a dash of blatant racism right?

Apparently quite a few residents were not amused.

Aurora resident Penny Briton took to Facebook to share her disgust:

“Who thinks this is appropriate for a fair parade where children, some of them minorities and girls, are marching and playing instruments and watching? Who thinks this is something to laugh at or be proud of? This is disgusting. This makes me embarrassed to say I live here. This is Aurora, Indiana. Congratulations.”

Jackie Reynolds seconded Ms. Briton’s sentiment:

“My initial reaction was I’m just appalled. For us to be in 2016 and have our President depicted as an Easter Island statue in blackface doesn’t even make any sense, but it’s as racist as can be.”

And Tony Moore said:

“I was honestly kind of shocked at the content of the float. I’m not even sure what this level of discourse was going to accomplish. It didn’t necessarily make sense, but I could tell that it was riddled in hate.”

Of course funny Frank had his supporters as well. Patrick Schwing told WCPO:

“He does something every year. Frank’s Frank. I don’t see anything wrong with it. If anybody’s offended by it, then they shouldn’t look at it.”

Right! Because everyone goes to a parade to NOT look at the floats. Good grief.

Frank, who said he is a Democrat and as such apparently understands the truth as much as he understands comedy, told WCPO:

“It’s all in fun. Laughter is the best medicine in life and this country needs more laughter — and the people that are offended by it, I’m sorry. Don’t come to the parade next time.”

Yes Frank, laughter is the best medicine. Just know that we are all laughing at you.
