Sen. Claire McCaskill Attacks Trump On Twitter, Calls For ‘Public Daily Weigh-In’ (TWEET)

Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill has had about enough of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s body shaming. After watching Trump spend the last few days attacking a woman who won a Miss Universe contest, McCaskill took to Twitter to ask who really has the weight problem:

McCaskill has had no problem calling out Trump in the past, such as refuting former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich’s claims that Trump is similar to former President Harry Truman:

“Phony bloviating god damned fool.” McCaskill pulls no punches when telling us how she feels about the Republican nominee.

At the end of Monday’s debate, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton brought up the story of Miss Universe winner Alicia Machado, who Trump had referred to in the past as “Miss Piggy” due to weight she gained and “Miss Housekeeping” due to her Venezuelan heritage. Rather than apologizing or moving on, Trump called in to Fox and Friends to continue his attacks of Machado. He told the hosts:

“She was the winner, and she gained a massive amount of weight, and it was a real problem… not only that, her attitude… And Hillary went back into the years and… found the girl and talked about her like she was Mother Teresa, and it wasn’t quite that way, but that’s OK. Hillary has to do what she has to do.”

Trump also went on a late night (early morning?) Twitter rant, encouraging his supporters at 4:30 AM to “check out sex tape” of Alicia Machado:

Machado once appeared on a reality show, and a scene exists where she and another cast member have sex. Nothing terribly illicit is shown, and there is no evidence that Machado has appeared in a pornographic film, which is something that Donald Trump cannot say of himself.

All this body shaming is increasingly ridiculous when you look at who this is coming from. When Trump appeared on Dr. Oz, he released some medical information about himself. He told Dr. Oz about how much he loves fast food, and he announced his weight at 236 pounds (although some estimate he weighs up to 260). Either way, that qualifies Trump as “obese.”

I agree with Senator McCaskill. Trump’s weight is concerning, and it will surely impede his stamina as he tries to lead the country if he is elected.
