Alicia Machado has been in the news A LOT this week. Since the debate between Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, the national conversation has focused quite a bit on Trump’s comments about Machado, and with good reason. Trump went on one of his famous Twitter tirades in the wee hours of Friday morning, though, and his assertions were quickly debunked.
Donald Trump: ‘Check Out Sex Tape’
In his tweets, Donald Trump said the world needed to find the alleged “sex tape” featuring Alicia Machado.

Though several conservative publications followed Trump’s lead and posted stories about how a “porn star” was campaigning for Clinton, the truth was out there.
And BuzzFeed found it.
Nothing More Than A Reality Show And Playboy
There are two “sex tape” accusations going on in the media right now. One says that Machado was filmed having sex with a co-star on “La Granja VIP,” which is a Spanish show similar to “Big Brother.” According to BuzzFeed:
“The show, ‘La Granja VIP’ — which translates to ‘The Farm VIP’ — featured celebrities who live and work together on a farm. Machado and co-star Fernando Acaso were forced to leave the show after cameras filmed them having sex at night, People Español reported.”
So, two adults made what some might call a bad decision, and they were punished for it. OK. Nothing to see here. They’re certainly not the first two people on a reality show to have sex.
However, there is also the “porn star” accusation. First off, I will say that there is nothing wrong with being a porn star. And I think it’s safe to say that the vast majority of porn stars are not conservatives. That’s beside the point, though.
As BuzzFeed reports:
“Most Google search results for ‘Alicia Machado sex tape’ are clips from her encounter with Acaso on ‘La Granja VIP.’
Some results are pornographic videos that claim to feature Machado, but it’s not her in them, as debunking website Snopes.com pointed out. One recurring video that appears on popular porn websites and claims to star Machado but actually features a porn star who vaguely resembles the former Miss Universe, Snopes.com reported.”
The only other “scandal” is that Machado once posed nude for Playboy.
If that’s a problem, then are these?
Oh, and most importantly, MACHADO IS NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT.
Wait, There’s More!
The truth is there really is no scandal here. Machado had consensual sex with a co-star on a reality show, which was perhaps a rash decision but not that big of a deal. She posed for Playboy, but Melania Trump posed nude for “Max Magazine” and has nude photos all over the internet. Still, nude pics aren’t a big deal (for either of them, in my opinion). And, on top of all that, Machado is a private citizen who can do whatever she wants to do.
But, guess who WAS in a soft-core porn?
Just let that sit for a while.
