9-Year-Old High School Grad Starts College, You Won’t BELIEVE His Goal (VIDEO)

William Maillis from Penn Township, Pennsylvania has become one of the youngest people to graduate high school. He started college, and has some lofty ideas that he wants to study. He is working on theories explaining the origins of our universe… At 9-years-old!

He is one of the youngest people to ever attend college. He wants to study physics and space chemistry. He is planning to get a doctorate and work as an astrophysicist. He said this about his main goal:

“I want to prove to everybody that God does exist by showing that only an outside force could be capable of forming the cosmos.”

William has had many huge academic accomplishments in his short life. He learned addition at 21 months old. He was reading and writing at two-years-old. He learned algebra, sign language, and the Greek language at 4-years-old. He learned geometry at five, and trigonometry at seven.

Maillis consulted with a college psychologist who declared him a “genius.” His parents are very supportive. They let him choose which subjects he would like to study. Aaron Hoffman, his history professor, said:

We haven’t steered away from any topics: Hitler, Mussolini, the Holocaust, wars. If he’s here for college, he’s going to get college-level material.”

William’s father said:

“I just want him to appreciate the gift he has, which I think he does. I tell him, ‘God gave you a gift. The worst thing would be to reject that gift and not use it for the betterment of the world.’ “

His father also said:

“We’re normal people. And he’s a normal kid. You can’t distinguish him from other 9-year-olds. He likes sports, television shows, the computer and video games like everyone else.”
